Welding Consumables & PPE
Add the consumables, tooling and protective equipment needed to put hired machinery to work. Orders are supplied through our sister sales business, SGL Online, and can be prepared for collection or added to an agreed delivery.
Consumable selection depends on the process, material, thickness, machine, torch, amperage and required finish. We will help match the item to the supplied hire package, but the hirer remains responsible for the approved welding procedure and site controls.
Consumables available
MIG and flux-cored wire
Mild-steel, stainless-steel, aluminium and selected specialist wires in suitable diameters and spool formats.
TIG filler rods
Filler metals for appropriate carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium and specialist TIG applications.
MMA electrodes
General-purpose and application-specific stick electrodes, selected for material, position, current and site requirements.
Plasma consumables
Hypertherm cartridges and conventional torch parts for compatible Powermax systems, plus cutting and gouging consumables.
Abrasives
Cutting discs, grinding discs, flap discs, fibre discs, wire products and preparation tools for fabrication and finishing.
Torch and feeder spares
Contact tips, nozzles, liners, diffusers, shrouds, collets, ceramics, tungsten electrodes, drive rolls and related wear parts.
Magnetic-drill tooling
HSS and TCT broach cutters, pilot pins, VersaDrive tooling, countersinks, reamers and cutting lubricant.
Gas cutting equipment
Suitable cutting nozzles, hoses, regulators, flashback arrestors and related components for approved oxy-fuel setups.
PPE and workshop safety
Welding helmets, lenses, gloves, clothing, respiratory products, screens and other protective equipment for the assessed task.

Give us the hire machine, torch, material, thickness and process.

Confirm quantities
Estimate wire, electrodes, plasma cartridges, abrasives and PPE required for the project.

Collect or receive together
We prepare the order through SGL Online and coordinate it with the agreed equipment handover.
Items charged separately
Consumables are sale items rather than reusable hire equipment. Used wire, electrodes, rods, abrasives, plasma parts, drill cutters, fuel, gas and disposable PPE are not included in the equipment hire rate unless your written quotation specifically states otherwise.
